Health and Wellness Operations for the Spring/Summer Semesters

We understand that the Health and Wellness facilities on campus including the gymnasium, weight room and cardio area are an important aspect of the on-campus experience for faculty, staff and students. We are working within the health and safety procedures established-on campus to provide access to the gymnasium, cardio, and weight room areas.

Hours of Operation

Current Hours:

  • Mondays: 9am - 5pm
  • Tuesdays: 9am - 5pm
  • Wednesdays: 9am - 5pm
  • Thursdays: 9am - 5pm
  • Fridays: 9am - 5pm

MAY/JUNE Open Class Schedule:

  • Mondays: 7am – 8am & 8am – 9am Strength Training in Gym (DROP IN)
    1pm – 2pm Yoga in W2041
    4pm – 5pm Row in Gym
  • Tuesdays: 1pm – 2pm Core in Gym
  • Wednesdays: 12pm – 1pm Yoga in W2041
  • Thursdays: 12pm – 1pm Spin in Gym
    1pm – 2pm Mobility in Gym
  • Fridays: 12pm – 1pm Fun Fit in Gym
    1pm – 2pm Yoga in W2041

Please Note: The weight room WILL NOT be accessible during the following times:

  • Mondays: 12pm – 1pm
  • Tuesdays: 12pm – 1pm, 4pm – 5pm
  • Wednesdays: 1pm – 2pm
Booking Space
  • During the Spring/Summer semesters, we will NOT be using the online booking system for the cardio equipment and weight room area.
  • Looking to rent or book the gym for an event? Please email recreation@mi.mun.ca
Shower Access
  • The shower facilities are open and accessible.
Health and Safety Measures
  • Physical distance where possible.
  • You can take your mask off while working out, however please put it on when gathering weights/resting between sets if there are other people within 6 feet.
  • Cleaning - all touched surfaces in both cardio and weight room must be cleaned after each use.
